Gavin Will, 17, of Reading, was charged for his role in the death of 19-year-old Christian Disla in the 1300 block of Muhlenberg Street on Monday, April 1, according to the  affidavit.

Will; Brothers, Luis Santos-Cruz, 19, of Reading; and Jonielle Cruz, 17, of Doylestown, acted together to ambush an unnamed second victim who Disla happened to be getting into the same vehicle with, the affidavit states. The second victim was uninjured.

A single bullet struck Disla and was later traced to a gun Will dropped as he was running police just before he was arrested, according to the affidavit. Two more bullets were recovered from the second victim's vehicle.

Police used surveillance footage from multiple sources along with forensics to determine the details of the incident, the affidavit states.

Santos-Cruz was arrested in New York by US Marshals in October, according to a WFMZ News report. His brother, Cruz, was arrested in June and is being held in the Berks County Jail.

Will was charged with:

  • First-Degree Murder.
  • Third-Degree Murder.

Bail was denied due to the nature of the charges, according to court documents. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 22.

Santos-Cruz and Cruz are both facing similar charges, court documents state.

Court records for Santos-Cruz haven't been updated as he is awaiting extradition from New York back to Pennsylvania, the WFMZ report states.

Cruz is also being held without bail, according to court documents. His case was transferred to the Court of Common Pleas on Thursday, Aug. 22.
